Blog

I promise to blog more often x 100

hello all….I have been very tardy as far as the blogging goes!

Marla & I have been in New Zealand performing at the Queenstown Winter Festival, performing on the Goodmorning show for TVNZ & singing along side our mother Kathi at her 70th birthday celebration. The concert for Mum was held at the Regent on Broadway in Palmerston North. It is a stunning venue! We had a very special night performing with Mum & her showcase singers! Ray Woolf performed as well & of course Marla’s beloved Daniel.

I am now home for 11 days & then I am off to Auckland for some meetings with Marla……

ciao for now!

Queenstown Winter Festival

Tonight Marla , Daniel & I sang at the Queenstown Winter Festival….wow! what a special night.

Marla & I were so blown away by the reception we received. New Zealander’s can be a tad reserved at times but tonight the crowd enveloped us all with their warmth & enthusiasm.thank you New Zealand….there is nothing like performing at home.

I found it grounding & empowering.

I am so proud to be a Kiwi!!!!!!!!

I am privileged to realise that I was born into this world to sing my harmony to Marla’s melody….that is when I feel most at home & fully self expressed……

I can’t wait to be singing with Marla again. As Marla so aptly put it in an interview once, “singing alone can sometimes feel like going to work with only one arm for the first time”

As I sing all our songs alone at home I just imagine her beside me & that helps keep me sane.

The next door neighbours must wonder what is going on as so often I weave through the melody & seamlessly into a harmony…it must sound quite odd without Marla there!

Sometimes we have to travel to far & distant countries to discover that everything we ever desired to escape traveled with us & everything we yearned to learn was within us…..Reesey

home sweet home….

Hello gorgeous people!

I have been home for about 10 days in gorgeous Sydney , Australia. Spending time with my hubby Simon!

The weather is beautiful & it has been great to catch up with family & friends.

I miss Marla, Daniel , Jesse & Alexandra….especially Alexandra. She lights up my life in every way……

Now I am focusing on our New Zealand concerts.Learning music & finding my more classical voice buried somewhere within the depths of me….eeek!

I had a huge practise yesterday which was soothing for the soul. If I don’t express myself vocally I find I get a little depressed. I can’t imagine living without a creative outlet.

Creativity is such a wonderful access to self soothing. I believe that as adults we sometimes deprive ourselves of soothing , calming activities.

Today I am going to buy some acrylic paint & start painting again!that should unleash my inner child with a passion

Watch out  world!

heading to Redding

ladies & gentlemen…..

here we are driving once again through the rolling hills of California. We are driving back to Redding to perform  a “make -up” concert. clear your minds of mascara, powder & war paint { affectionate  show biz name for cosmetics} we are returning to fulfil our concert obligations from a couple of weeks ago when we were all sick.

Daniel & Jesse are performing in Roseberg & Marla, Alexandra & I are being chaffeured to Redding by our dear friend Jack.

It is a mere 7 days till I fly into sunny Sydney & visit my favourite cafe & I must say I am very excited! I need a break. The good news is…. I realise that all I need is a few days & then I will be brimming with enthusiasm again. I am so grateful for my life! Singing full time with my twin sister & performing along side my brother in law is a dream come true!

I look forward to the future & all is has to hold. look out world! here I come…..
